How to Edit a Template

A Template is a reusable framework. The Terms are the shared commitments you will reuse. Roles identify who will later take on those commitments. Details are the unique facts—names, dates, amounts, addresses, milestones—that make a Proposal yours. When editing, keep Terms stable unless the framework itself must change; adjust Roles only for clarity; add or revise Details where facts belong.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Open Templates — From the top header, click Templates to open the Templates page.
  2. Select the Template — In the left sidebar, click the Template you want to edit.
  3. Update the title — Edit the title to reflect how this Template will be recognized in your library.
  4. Refine Roles — In Roles, click Manage. Add, rename, or clean up Roles for clarity; avoid embedding person or company names here.
  5. Add or adjust Details — In Details, click Add detail to add new fields, or edit existing fields. Capture unique facts (for example, Delivery Date, Fee, Address). Keep facts here; reference them from the Terms.
  6. Revise the Terms — Edit the shared Terms only when the framework needs adjustment. Use Role names in place of specific parties, and reference Details by name (for example, “on the Delivery Date”).
  7. Changes auto-save — Edits save automatically as you work; review before you close the page.
